Barb de Corti, CEO of Enjo & Method Australia | Cleaning Up Barb de Corti is one of Australia's truly inspiring entrepreneurs, understanding the importance of sacrifice and determination through having created one of the country's most successful cleaning empires. This is an opportunity to come and learn the 'rags-to-riches' story behind the brand and discover the invaluable insights shared by one of Perth's most successful female business women. Barb de Corti's entrepreneurial vision made its mark in 1994 when as a young aerobics instructor she was given a set of Enjo cleaning cloths. Impressed with the chemical-free microfibre products and seeing the potential in the market she invested her family's $40,000 life savings to become Enjo's sole Australian distributer. The company - which now turns over more than $100 million each year - began in the garage of Barb's Perth suburban home and is the result of a complete belief in a product that could change domestic Australia. Success was not immediate and quickly running out of savings, Barb refused to give up and mortgaged her house in order to keep the company afloat. With this dedication combined with a new development in the company's selling and marketing ventures, the business started to take off with enormous results. Now Enjo Australia is a nation wide business with Barb being named as one of Australia's wealthiest young female entrepreneur by BRW magazine in its inaugural young rich list and in 2007 was hand selected to become part of the ACF's Climate Project, trained by Al Gore to deliver cultural change around the area of climate change. WA Business News is proud to welcome Barb de Corti on Wednesday, 26 August 2009. |
