Ocean waves part of CO2 solution
2-October-08 Written by Mark Pownall CLIMATE change concerns continue to spawn new business ideas, with a recent entry being a Perth-based company's proposal to capture carbon dioxide in seawater through a process which could also be used to extract minerals. Pearl Global, run out of the offices of Kirke Securities Ltd in West Perth, has acquired the rights to the technology from Queensland-based firm Greensols, which was founded by academic Dr Chris Cuff who made the discovery. The venture is the latest for Western Australian businessman Gary Foster, who has mainly worked in the financial services sector, initially in Australia but more recently with an Indian project, Transaction Solutions International, aimed at investing in ATM machines in the sub-continent.
