Fortescue and Roche form Pilbara Mining Alliance

Leading Western Australian iron ore player Fortescue Metals Group Ltd and mining services specialist Roche Mining have entered into a long term alliance, forming the Pilbara Mining Alliance.

The alliance will be responsible for moving more than 850 million tonnes of material and will also manage in excess of $1.9 billion of Fortescue's operating costs in its first five year term.
